Romford Golf Club founded in 1894 is a non-profit making members' club owned and run by the members for the benefit of the members and the local community.
The course consists of 18 holes designed by the 5 times Open Champion James Braid. It is a par of 71 with a length of about 6,400 yards. There is no doubt it is one of the best Essex courses, situated within the Gidea Park estate. It has lush fast running fairways lined with mature trees and firs providing a wonderful test of golf. The course has held the regional qualifier for the Open championship. It boasts four par threes and three par fives. Ample bunkering is a major feature along with its beautiful subtle contoured greens.
