Romford Golf Club
The course at Romford was designed by the five time Open Champion James Braid. It has hosted professional and amateur championships and has been used as a Qualifying venue for "˜The Open'.
At 6,408 yards from the back tees, the par 71 course offers a stern, but fair test of golf and with three of the par fours in excess of 450 yards, it cannot be said to be short.
To play the course well, accuracy is as important as distance due to the tight tree lined fairways and well placed bunkers.
There are a limited number of buggies available for hire. However, the course is flat and for the majority who play it, not necessary.
